Introduction
Repeater Fields allow for the creation of a block of fields that can be repeated, and then insert that block into a form. People would then be able to click on a plus sign to add another block of fields to the form.
Please note that Form Logic cannot be used with Repeater Fields.
Getting Started
- Create the block of fields to be repeated. Navigate to Admin > Forms, and create a new form.
- Under Form Type, select 'Repeater'.
- Once the names of the Repeater Fields have been determined, as in Step 2, select 'Create Form and Go to Fields'. Field Types available for repeater fields are General, No Data, and Payment. Be sure to review Field Type Descriptions.
- Set up the fields that should be repeated. Once saved, these can now be used in a Regular Form Type.
- Create a New Form, or edit an existing form and select the desired repeater field from the Field Type "Repeaters".
- Select the repeater field and determine the number of times a user can repeat the field. If left as zero, there will be no limit to the number of times the repeater field can be used.
Repeater Fields - User View
When a Repeater Field is used in a form, once it has been used once, a blue + will appear to allow block of fields in the repeater form will appear.
If the fields have been added too many times, extra repeater fields can be removed by selecting the red x.
Repeater Field Tips
If a "quantity selection" is used in a Repeater Field, users can add a new set of repeater fields by choosing a quantity, instead of clicking on the +.
Please note that, when using a "quantity dropdown", the non-quantity field will also need to be used.
Editing a Form Submission
An admin can edit the submissions with repeater fields, and add or remove more blocks there.
