ShulCloud can help switch out a purchased domain address (e.g. myshulwebaddress.org) to point to the new ShulCloud site. This is referred to as a URL Changeover or updating the DNS. It ensures that visitors are directed to the new ShulCloud site. The site is secure, runs smoothly, and all features—including the SSL certificate—work as expected.
1. Choose a Go Live Date
ShulCloud will coordinate the site launch and issue a secure certificate (SSL certificate). Sites are typically launched on Thursdays at 12:30 pm EST, and the preferred launch week should be communicated in advance.
2. Send ShulCloud DNS (Domain Name) Credentials
ShulCloud recommends a support ticket be opened at least 5 business days prior to the Go Live date. The ticket should specify the desired Go Live date and include the necessary DNS host account information. While the 5-day timeframe is considered best practice, it is not a requirement. The URL may also be transitioned earlier if the congregation determines it is necessary.
