Adding/Deleting a Widget

    ShulCloud offers a variety of built in widgets that can be embedded throughout a website. Widgets can be moved to different sections on the website, but cannot be edited directly, as they are generated from automated feeds.

    It is recommended to place only the widget in its own section on a webpage, without adding extra content to that section. This way, when the widget section is edited or deleted, no other webpage content will be affected.

    Add a Widget

    1. On the desired page where the widget should appear, add or edit a section and select Insert Widget in the Rich Text Editor toolbar. To learn more about the toolbar functionality, review: Rich Text Editor RTE (Reference).
    2. Once the widget is added, save the section before navigating away.
    3. Refresh the page in the browser to see the new widget by selecting the circular arrow next to the URL.

    Delete a Widget

    1. On the page where the widget appears, select Start Editing.
    2. Locate the widget, and select Delete.

    Widget Options

     Select from the following widgets:

    Widget Option Description
    Upcoming Events Lists upcoming events included in a ShulCloud calendar in chronological order. Select the calendar(s) and number of events to display.upcoming events.png
    Calendar List

    • Today's Schedule → Lists events for the current day.

    • Upcoming Events (if checked for homepage) → Shows upcoming events when this widget is placed on the homepage.

    • Parsha → Displays the weekly Torah portion.

    • Candlelighting → Shows candlelighting times for Shabbat/holidays.

    • Havdalah → Shows Havdalah times.

    • Next Holiday → Displays the next Jewish holiday.

    • Show Sefira (when applies) → Displays the Omer count during the Omer period.

    • Shabbat's Schedule → Shows the schedule specifically for Shabbat.

    • Tomorrow's Schedule → Displays events scheduled for the following day.

    • Hide Past Schedule Items → Removes items that have passed from the displayed list.

    • Show View Calendar Link → Adds a link to view the full calendar page.

    Month Calendar Displays the full ShulCloud calendar with events.
    Month Calendar Condensed

    Displays this visual:

    • Hide Past Dates → Removes items that have passed from the displayed list.

    Slider Displays a slideshow of images and text. See How to Create Sliders for more information
    Subscribe Provides a link that takes website visitors to the My Subscriptions page in the Member Portal, where they will be prompted to log-in to manage their subscriptions.
    Contact Form

    Displays a contact form for website visitors to contact the synagogue. Choose a Person to select who will recieve the message.

    Fields in the contact form include:

    • Name
    • Email
    • Subject (optional)
    • Message

    Blog Feed

    Sliding Blog Posts

    		 Displays a list of blog posts created within the Blog in ShulCloud. See Blog Widgets for more information.
    Lifecycles List

    Select a lifecycle type to display member names by date. The lifecycle dates must be included in the person or account in ShulCloud to be displayed.

    Form Enrollment Select to display an enrollment form created in ShulCloud.
    Inner Pages Displays a navigation menu to subpages on a ShulCloud site.
    Map Displays a map based on the latitude and longitude coordinates entered in the site settings.

    Past Events Lists past events included in a ShulCloud calendar in chronological order. Select the calendar(s) and number of events to display.
    Kosher Recipes Automated feed that displays Kosher recipes. Select the type of recipes to display.
    YuTorah.org Embed Display content from YuTorah.org.
    Events Grouped By Calendar Tag See Using Calendar Tags for instructions on how to display events by calendar tag.
    Donation Search Bar See Donation Search Bar for instructions on how to allow donors to easily search for a fund and make a donation.
    Photo Galleries See Managing Galleries for instructions on how to display photo galleries.
