Jump To:
Choosing a Template
On Step 3 of an email, select Mail Builder. Then continue to Step 4, and click on Launch MailBuilder. You will see three template options: Basic, Banner, and Call To Action. You can choose any of these for your email.
Once you choose a template, you'll be able to customize the email background and layout with the options at the right. Then select 'Save Theme'.
When you hover the mouse over a section, you will be able to move, clone, or delete it.
Blocks
You can drag in a block from the right. Drag the block until you see a red line.
If you have chosen the Schedule list in Step 1, you will have many more options of blocks to choose from.
You can also drag in a grid, which will add multiple blocks in a row.
When you click on a text box, you will see editing options both at the right. You will be able to change each option either by dragging the circle , or by entering in a number.
When you are done making changes to the section, click on Save Changes.
Adding Links
You can also set certain options using the CKEditor. This means that text within a section does not need to have the same size or color.
You can add a link with the chain icon on the right. When you add a link, you will be able to either enter in a URL, or search your site to link to a specific page.
Login Links
There is a special kind of link, which will automatically log in a member.
First, select the link (chain) icon
And then select Token as the link type:
Then you can choose {{login_link:url}}
You will be able to choose which page the login link will go to. For example, you could enter members/my-account.php
That would log someone in automatically, and take him to the My Account page.
You can also add a login link to a button with these steps:
Step 1
Step 2
Tokens
You can personalize your emails with tokens. Select the [TOKEN] option from the CKEditor:
You can, for example, add each recipient's first name to the email.
For a special type of email, such as a yahrzeit email, you'll be able to include the date of the yahrzeit, and other yahrzeit information.
This will also allow you to preview what the token will look like in the completed email.
Once the token has been added, it will be highlighted in yellow while you are working on the mail:
Once the mail is actually sent, the token will populate - in this example, it would populate with the recipient's first name.
Images Within Text Blocks
You can add an image to a text block with the option in the CKEditor.
Here is how to add a link to an image that is within a text block.
Add the image, and either choose the automatic width, or set the width to a certain number of pixels.
Select OK. Then highlight the image, and click on the Link icon.
The link text won't be required.
Image Blocks
When you drag an image block into your email, you will see a few options at the right. If you turn on the Link, you can either enter in a url, or use the magnifying glass to find a page on your site to link to.
At any point, you can reset the email, save the email as a template, or preview the email.
- Reset: Revert the email back to the original template.
- Template: Save the email as a template. You will see the option to use a saved template when you are creating a new Mail Builder mail.
- Preview: Preview the email with either desktop or mobile view.
When you've finished working on the mail, click on Done at the top right.
