Embedding a Login or Custom Login Link in an Email
Login and custom login links allow recipients to access personalized content based on their email address. These links can be embedded directly into email messages.
Overview of Link Types
- Login Link: Directs the recipient to their My Account page. New users will be prompted to create a password.
- Custom Login Link: Functions similarly but can be configured to lead to any specific page, such as a form or event.
Steps to Embed a Login or Custom Login Link
Using Rich Text Editor
- Navigate to Communications > Legacy Mail.
- Select Create New Mail.
- Once a mailing list and recipients have been chosen, select the Rich Text option.
- Locate the login link option on the left side of the page.
- Choose either a login link or a custom login link.
Setting Up a Custom Login Link
- In the URL field, enter the path starting with "/" after the Shul’s website name to specify the destination page.
Example: /events/special-shabbat - Enter the display text that will appear as the clickable link in the email.
Using MailBuilder
- Navigate to Communications > Legacy Mail.
- Select Create New Mail.
- Once a mailing list and recipients have been chosen, select the MailBuilder option.
- Complete the necessary information such as From name and email and subject line. Select Launch MailBuilder.
- Select a template and set the theme.
- Click inside a content box to begin editing.
- Select the chain link icon next to the word
[token]. - Change the link type to "Token".
- Select either Login Link or Payment Link from the Choose Token dropdown.
- In the URL field, enter the path starting with "/" after the Shul’s website name to specify the destination page. An option to use the magnifying glass icon to browse and select the destination page is also available when using the login link. The payment link will direct to /payment.php.
