There are times where you will need to move one profile from an account to create a new one, either when children become adults and have their own accounts, or if a family is going through a divorce. This will move the person only - this will NOT move any transactions.
To split an account, go to Admin Menu - Accounts, and click view when you find the account. Then, click the people tab, and click "edit" next to the person you want to move from the account. PLEASE NOTE - You cannot move the primary adult from the account.
Once you click edit, scroll to the bottom of the page, and there's a link "Split/Move from Account.
Once you click that link, you'll see the various options for splitting the profile from the account:
Decide if this person should be moved to a brand new account (and enter the new account name here) or choose if they should be moved to an existing account (which you can search for).
You can also change the person type (changing from child to adult, for example).
Finally, when you move someone from the account, you can set up relationships to the people on the original account so they can be linked.
