Welcome to the manual for saving ACH and e-Check payment methods! This comprehensive guide will walk you through the process of securely storing and managing your ACH and e-Check payment information.
Your Congregants will have two different methods of saving their payments.
- Via microdeposit verification with Bank Account and ABA Routing number. IMPORTANT: These instructions are for those who do NOT have Plaid enabled.
- Via Plaid (requires online login information to their bank). Micro deposits are still an option even with Plaid enabled.
How to add your e-Check and ACH via micro deposit validation:
- Login in to your account on the top right corner.
- Navigate to the My Account or Member portal from the Navigation bar if it is showing there.
- Or simply click on your name and choose My Account if it is not in the Navigation.
- Scroll down to the My Payment Methods button and simply click on it.
- Click the Add New Payment Method option.
- Choose the option with e-Check or ACH depending on your Synagogue's naming convention of the gateway they use. It might show Credit Card and e-Check together, however if it does not allow you to save an e-Check pay method, you can come back to this screen and choose a different name in the drop down.
- Choose e-Check and the Account Type on the Add Payment Method page and fill out the ABA Routing and Bank Account Number. Please check the authorization before you move on!
- Add the additional information to the page.
- Click Save Payment Method.
- Your payment Method will show up with the option to Verify with Micro Deposit.
- Now you can validate your bank account using micro deposits. Micro deposits are small amounts deposited and removed from you bank account, usually 2 and generally less than a dollar, to verify your account after you supply your banking information in this form. Micro deposits usually take 1-3 days to be deposited and removed from your account, so you'll need to come back and verify them once you receive them in order to use your account. After the amount is verified there will be a withdrawal from the account for the micro deposits.
- Now you can validate your bank account using micro deposits. - Click on the Verify Micro Deposits.
- Add the Micro Deposit amounts and click verify.
- After the verification is complete you may choose to update or delete your payment method.
- Now you can use this payment method on the payment page at checkout.
How to add your e-Check and ACH via Plaid:
Note: Plaid needs to be enabled for this option. (Admin Menu>Settings>Edit Settings>Credit Card Display>Allow Plaid)
About Plaid: Plaid is a financial technology company that provides a platform for connecting user bank accounts with various applications and services. It acts as an intermediary between financial institutions and developers, allowing users to securely link their bank accounts and share financial data with third-party applications.
To start please complete steps 1-6 from the "How to add your e-Check and ACH via micro deposit validation".
- Choose E-Check and the Account Type from the Add Payment Method page and click on Choose Account with Plaid.
- Click on the Continue button.
- Select your Bank by clicking on it. If your bank does not show up please search on it in the search box.
- PLEASE NOTE: if your bank doesn't show on the list by clicking on the bottom exit button you will be prompted to enter your bank account via micro deposit. For that please click on the Didn't see your bank in Plaid button and follow the steps from here: What to do when Plaid ACH/eCheck bank account verification is not successful
- Click Continue for the Authentication with your bank.
- Login to your account.
- If you have a two step authentication enabled enter your Authorization Code.
- The system will as you to give consent to share your data and then select your account.
- Now you will be prompted back to ShulCloud to finish up with the Add Payment Method page. Please do not forget to authorize before you fill out the rest of the page. After you are done click on save.
- Your new payment method is saved. You can update or delete.
- Now you can use this payment method on the payment page at checkout.
