- Navigate to Communications > Legacy Mail.
- Select Create New Mail.
- In Step One, select Paper Mail, choose the desired mailing list, and select Continue.
- In Step Two, determine the recipients, either all subscribers or those that meet the criteria of the mailing list. Narrow down the recipients by using Advanced Targeting.
- Within Advanced Targeting, customize recipients using a number of different filters:
- Account Type
- Minyan
- Person Type
- Age Range
- Tag
- Email or Mailing Address status
- Enrollment in a course (school module only).
- Once filters are set, select Add This Filter to Recipient List to generate recipients meeting this criteria.
- Step Three provides several options for the mailing:

Option Description PDF Letter Head
If letter head loaded in Admin > My Lists > Template Text, attach it here.
Use Word Template
Generate the mailing as a word document instead of a PDF. For more info about Word Templates, access this resource: Using Word Templates
Confirmation Email address
Sends the paper mail as a PDF to this email address.
Post Message to Blog

Tag
Tag a mailing for easier search for future mailings. Access this resource: Creating Mail Tags
- Step Four is the body of the message.
Use the list of merge fields on the left to personalize the mailing. Tags like [first_name] will address the mailing to the recipient, and the address tags will make sure the recipient is addressed properly. Depending on the Mailing List selected will depend on the merge fields available. - Step Six is the confirmation page, where the message can be reviewed. If adjustments are needed, simply select Step 4: Message on the top edit as necessary. When complete, select Download to complete and have the letters emailed to the email address indicated in step 3 as a PDF.
