With ShulCloud's built-in blogging platform, you can set up a web page that includes a chronological series of blog posts. Here's how to create a blog page:
Step 1: Create a new page
On your ShulCloud website, go to Start Editing > Add New Page.
Set up your page name, url, etc., as you normally would. When you get to Page Type, choose Blog/News.
- Number of Posts per page: choose how many posts you want to appear on one page (when you exceed your chosen number, ShulCloud will automatically generate subsequent pages).
- Automatically make short posts: If YES, users will see the first few lines of text on the blog page, with a link to view the entire post on a separate page. If NO, all postings will appear in their entirety on the main blog page.
- Show blog dates: If YES, the date and time of the post will appear automatically. Choose NO to hide the dates if you don't want people to know when a post was published.
Step 2: Your first post
Now that you have a blog page, you can add your first post. Click Start Editing, then Edit Section.
Enter the title of your post, author (optional), override the time (if you like), and add your content.
Step 3: Add more posts
The first post section was automatically included. To add more, click Start Editing, then Add Post.
Now you're blogging! Here are a few more things you can do with your blog:
- Make a post "sticky"
- Add a blog feed to a standard web page
- Add a direct link to a blog post in your congregational email
- Turn your congregational emails into blog posts
