Introduction
With Stripe Reader M2 and the ShulCloud Mobile Admin App for iOS (version 3.0 or later), users can use collect mobile credit card payments a variety of ways: the tapping of a card supporting contactless payments (indicated by on its face), the inserting of a card supporting "chip" payments, and by sliding the old-fashioned way a card with a magnetic strip. The M2 also supports the tapping of iOS and Android devices featuring Apple Pay and Google Waller, respectively.
The Stripe Reader M2 is not yet supported on the ShulCloud Mobile Admin App for Android.
Prerequisites
To use a Stripe Reader M2 with ShulCloud, a ShulCloud admin needs the following:
- A US site with a Gateway using Shulware Integrated Payments for credit card payment processing
- An Apple iPhone (4s or later) or iPad (3 or later, any Mini, or any Pro)
- ShulCloud Mobile Admin App for iOS 3.0 or later
- Sufficient admin permissions to collect the desired type of payment

Collect a Payment via Stripe Reader M2
A payment via the Stripe Reader M2 starts like any other credit card payment. After logging in:
- Tap Add Transaction on the main menu
- Tap Skip for a public payment or search for and select a desired account holder
- Tap the type of payment transaction to add (limited by permission as shown above)
- Toggle Use a Credit Card to ON (green)
Next, follow these steps to collect the payment using the Reader M2:
- Make sure the Reader M2 is powered on and within reach
- Toggle Use Credit Card reader to ON (green)
- Choose your reader from the list of nearby readers shown in the pop-up screen
- Enter additional payment details such as amount and/or charge type
- Tap Next
- Answer YES to the Ready to Proceed question
- Read the card using the Reader M2 (tapping phone or card on top, inserting card, or sliding card)
Success
When the device or card has been read, Reader M2 makes long tone. The payment then processes. You will see a "Success" message when it completes. You can answer YES to the question to take another payment or NO to return to the app main menu.
Failure
If there is a problem processing the payment, you will receive an Error notification.
TIP: Rather than use SKIP for public payments, create or use an existing dummy account for payments that don't need to be associated with a true member account. This will spare you having to handle a long list of "public" payments on the Online Payment page after an event.
