Once you have created your event (instructions here), you can then turn on registration. There are three different places to turn that on:
- On the Admin Menu - Events page, scroll to your event, click the arrow next to "Edit" and select "Turn On Registration."
- Click "Edit" on the events page, and then click the arrow next to "Save" on the top. There is a link there to "Turn On Registration."
- From the event page itself, there is a link on the top "Turn On Registration."
Once you have accessed the registration page, your first options are to turn on registration, or to use a form to handle registration:
If you select "Use Form System to Run Registration" you will have the option to choose any form in your site to use as the registration page. If you do not want to use a form, leave that option off.
- Registration Dates: The event will only accept registration between these two dates. Admins can always register before the opening date and after the closing date.
- Costs Money: If this is a free event, leave the selection to No. If you will be charging people to attend, select yes to view the price options.
- Earlybird Closes: Only enter a date in this field if you have an earlybird price. Otherwise, leave it blank.
- Charge Type: The charge type that all payments for registration will use.
- Each Account Type Has Own Price: If checked, then you will be able to set a different price for each account type. A person will automatically see the price set for their account type, and people who are not logged in will see the first price option, "Public Visitors."
For any type of registration, free or not, you have to set the tiers of registration options. If you are charging money, each tier comes with different pricing options:
- Single Tier: everyone sees one option with the same price.
- Adult/Child Tiers: Will display "Adult" or "Child" and can have different prices for each.
- Custom Tiers: You can name the tiers whatever you'd like and assign each its own price.
PLEASE NOTE: If you want logged in users to be able to bill this charge to their account, check "Can Bill Account" next to the line of prices. Admins will ALWAYS be able to bill the charge to their accounts.
- Admin Confirmation Emails: Users will always get an email confirmation automatically when they register. If you want an admin to be notified whenever someone signs up, enter their email address here. Use a comma to enter more than one email address.
- Participant Limit: Once this limit is reached, the system will not let anyone else register. There may be instances where the limit is exceeded. For example, if two people register at the same time, they will both be allowed to register, or if a public payment is pending but not approved, that person will not count towards the number.
- Require Notes on Registration: The events page has a notes box placed automatically. If you want to force people to enter a note, check "Yes."
- Registration Mode: Determines if the registration is a number drop down, a yes/no option (checkbox) or a select one option (radio selection).
- Form for Extra Questions: The event registration only asks for a number of people coming. If you want any other information collected, select a form from this drop down.
- Tags who can Administer Registration: If you want to allow any non-admins to view the registrations, or sign up other people, you can add that tag here.
