Slider Size
We recommend using the full width responsive style whenever possible, since it is designed to format well on mobile devices.
The slider will always fill 100% of the content section's width. Then the height will adjust automatically so that the image's aspect ratio is maintained, and the image doesn't appear stretched or cut off.
Image Aspect Ratio
To control the height, each individual image would need to be cropped outside of ShulCloud, so that all images have the same aspect ratio.
For example, if you would like a 1:1 ratio, one image could be 500 pixels square, while another could be 300 pixels square.
If you'd like the images to be short, you can use a higher aspect ratio, such as 3:1
A high aspect ratio is recommended for the header slider - here is an example of how this would look with the Contrast template:
Optimal Image Size
A slider that spans the full width of the screen, such as the one on the Contrast template, would need images that are at least 2000 pixels wide. This will ensure that the slider doesn't look grainy even on very high-resolution screens.
If the slider is set to a fixed width, such as in the Bright and Airy template, the images would need to be at least 1000 pixels.
If the slider is included in a content area that is next to a sidebar, it should ideally be at least 700 pixels wide.
All of these sizes should be the original image size, without any stretching or resizing.
Adding Images to Slider
When adding the images to the slider, always choose 'original' as the size.
Otherwise, the system would automatically reduce the pixel size, which could cause this to look grainy.
