So you want to move to a cloud based QuickBooks system and you naturally want to go to QuickBooks Online. It's a good idea, just keep in mind that it is a completely different product then QuickBooks Desktop. Also, we only offer batch mode sync using journal entries in either cash or accrual mode. That means if you are currently using the full sync, this is a big change. You will lose Customers, Invoices, Payments, Credit Memos, etc from QuickBooks and only have the data for Income, Bank and A/R (if using Accrual).
To move to QuickBooks Online, you need to do the following:
- Go to Admin Menu > My Lists > Charge Types to export a list of your current mappings
- Get QuickBooks Online setup with Accounts, Beginning Balances, etc.
- Schedule a Time with ShulCloud to switch your sync method (their may be a fee depending on your current circumstances)
- We will train you how to use the new sync. This involves:
- Connecting to your QB Online (you will need to provide the Admin login to QuickBooks Online)
- Click "Import Associations" to pull your chart of accounts into ShulCloud
- Go to Admin Menu > My Lists > Bank Accounts to remap your bank accounts
- Go to Admin Menu > My Lists > Charge Types to remap your Charge Types (if your original export from Step 1 is 100%, we can automate this for you)
